Some non-local problems with nonlinear diffusion
In this paper we study different problems with nonlinear diffusion and non-local terms, some of them arising in population dynamics. We are able to give a complete description of the set of positive solutions and their stability. For that we employ a fixed point argument for the existence and uniqueness or multiplicity results and the study of singular eigenvalue problems for stability.

that have a number of applications in mathematical physics (see for instance [2, 3, 13]). Here d = d(u) and k = k(u) are arbitrary smooth functions of u, d(u) 6=0. The linear case of (1) (d, k = const) was studied by S. Lie [14] in his classification of linear second-order PDEs with two independent variables. (See also modern treatment of this subject in [17].) Various classes of quasi-linear e...
متن کاملBäcklund Transformations: a Link Between Diffusion Models and Hydrodynamic Equations
This work presents a new analytical method to transform exact solutions of linear diffusion equations into exact ones for nonlinear advection-diffusion models. The proposed formulation, based on Bäcklund transformations, is employed to obtain velocity fields for the unsteady two-dimensional Helmholtz equation, starting from analytical solutions of a heat conduction type model.

Solutions of Some Nonlinear Diffusion Equations and Generalized Entropy Framework
We investigate solutions of a generalized diffusion equation that contains nonlinear terms in the presence of external forces and reaction terms. The solutions found here can have a compact or long tail behavior and can be expressed in terms of the q-exponential functions present in the Tsallis framework. In the case of the long-tailed behavior, in the asymptotic limit, these solutions can also...
